What is ASOTV? Dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities Build bonds with Athletes and instill in them the Aggie spirit of service and diversity Raise funds for Special Olympics Texas Volunteer at local team’s weekly practices, Area competitions, and state tournaments
Member Requirements • Dues $35/year OR $20/semester • 15 points per semester • 1 point = 1 volunteer hour • 1 point = 1 meeting • Fillout Volunteer Verification Form
Membership Form • Committee Assignments at next meeting (October 7, 2009) • T-shirt included with dues! • Turn in after the meeting
Committees • Community Outreach • Campus Relations • Fundraising • Information Technology • Committee assignments at next meeting!
Become a SOTX Coach • Help athletes develop their skills and become champions! • Promote fair competition at all events • Current sports – bocce, golf, softball, triathlon, aquatics • Winter sports – bowling, powerlifting, volleyball, basketball
Volunteer A Form Volunteers who have regular, close physical contact with athletes Submit complete Volunteer A Form Complete online General Orientation and Protective Behaviors trainings Pass the criminal background check
Volunteer B Form Volunteers who only have limited contact with athletes or who have contact with athletes accompanied by coaches and chaperones E.g., day of event volunteers or certain Torch Run volunteers Complete Volunteer B form on day of event OR prior to event and bring it with you!
