  1. Evolution in Schools Is it right? Is it wrong?

  2. Evolution Education • The theory of evolution is a very controversial topic. This is because it conflicts with what people believe in their separate religions. Many schools have their own policies for how they teach it, and there are people who either support it or fight it.

  3. Pro-evolution education People believe evolution should be taught in schools because it is a widely supported scientific theory. Students have a right to be educated about possible origins of the human race, and how we and many other species came to be. In schools where evolution is taught, other theories of origin are also taught, including intelligent design, which is supported by the religious.

  4. Anti-evolution education • Those who do not support the teaching of evolution in schools are mainly the religious, who believe in intelligent design by a deity. They do not want anything that contradicts their religion to be taught to children in school. In addition, these people believe that it violates their freedom of religion, given to us by the first amendment of the Constitution, even though in most schools the theory of intelligent design is taught with the theory of evolution, and evolution is clearly stated as theory and not fact.

  5. Evolution in court • The Supreme Court would most likely rule that the theory of evolution can be taught in schools as a theory, because of the first amendment of the Constitution. By prohibiting the teaching of evolution in schools and only teaching intelligent design, schools are supporting certain religions, which may go against other religions. • This is an example of how our Constitution adapts to suit our growing knowledge of science and new technology.
