CardioNet vs. LOOP Clinical Trial Protocol • Title: The Diagnosis of Cardiac Arrhythmias: A Prospective, Multi-Center, Randomized Study Comparing Mobile Cardiac Outpatient Telemetry versus Standard LOOP Event Monitoring • Principal Investigator: Steven A. Rothman, Mainline Health Center • Study Design: 17 center, 300 patient randomized study to compare the relative value of the CardioNet Mobile Cardiac Outpatient Telemetry (MCOT) system with a patient activated external looping event monitor (LOOP) for symptoms (palpitations, syncope and/or presyncope) thought to be due to an arrhythmia. • Primary Endpoint: Confirmation or exclusion of a probable arrhythmic cause of patient’s symptoms • Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Vol. 18, Number 3, March 2007; Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Online Early doi:10.1111/j.1540-8167.2006.00729x Volume 0 Issue 0 • Conclusion: MCOT provided a significantly higher yield than LOOP monitors in patients with symptoms suggestive of a significant cardiac arrhythmia CardioNet, Inc. Clinical Trial Results • Presenting symptoms: • Palpitations – 81% • Presyncope – 34% • Syncope – 16% • Subjects (per protocol): • CardioNet – 134 patients • LOOP – 132 patients • 114 subjects (43%) presented with syncope or presyncope: • CardioNet – 62 subjects • LOOP – 52 subjects CardioNet, Inc.
