The PenderwicksThe Summer Tale Of Four Girls, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy By: Jeanne Birdsall My PPBR!!
SETTING • Aundrel Hall • Camreon
CHARACTERS • Skye- 11 year old. She’s also the smartest, plays soccer, blonde, and the most mischievous • Jane- Loves writing stories, plays soccer too, has brown hair, the shyest and she’s 10 • Batty- 8 years old, the youngest, the most creative, seems to always wear butterfly wings, loves her dog (black, named hound), loves stories, and is always using her imagination • Rosalind- The oldest, she fell in love with Cagney, 12 years old, she’s the most sensitive, and always tells stories to Batty • Jeffrey- Has lots of freckles, doesn’t have may friends (until the Penderwicks arrive), sweet, brave, and an only child • Cagney- 19 years old, (the guy Rosalind falls in love with), and has 2 rabbits(Yaz and Carla) • Ms. Tifton- Jeffrey’s mother, loud, mean , she really hates the Penderwicks, and wants to Jeffrey To a military school in Pennsylvania called Penacy
Plots Jeffrey, Skye, and Jane go to check out the farmer’s bull. When they’re about to leave the realized that Batty was gone but when they turn around…….. Batty was in the bull’s territory! They jump the fence and try to distract the bull, but before they knew it the bull threw Batty on the ground. Soon Jeffrey began to throw rocks at the bulls back. So the bull turns and aims at Jeffrey. Skye grabbed Batty and slid under the fence. As soon as the bull darted at him, he ran and slid under the fence as well.
Recommedations I liked this book because the author kept me reading it and when there’s a chapter, it stays on task and doesn’t go talking about other things. Also the author makes up cool things like MOOPS.(meeting of older Penderwick sisters) I recommend this book to young readers (adults too) that like adventurous, realistic fiction books. I think the reason of this book is that even though you’re a place you don’t want to be, you can still have fun and meet new people. And to entertain the reader.
