  3. A group of talented people got together

  4. To talk about ICTs in Education

  5. By invitation from an organisation called GeSCI

  6. There were all sorts of people in this group

  7. There was a Sergeant Major

  8. There was a ‘Journal’ist

  9. They came from all over Africa

  10. And beyond

  11. The first time they met –they really hit it off!

  12. The second time they met they shared a lot and were really engaged

  13. Some were married with five wives…..

  14. …while others had only one husband

  15. But they all promised to keep in touch and keep sharing knowledge

  16. GeSCI even built them a virtual home where they could get together www.africanknowledgeexchange.org

  17. But something happened

  18. In between being busy – they forgot about their home……

  19. There was lots of talk about their virtual home I can’t remember my username and password Have you logged on to the VWS?

  20. But they weren’t sure if their virtual home suited them It looked bigger in the plans!

  21. And then they discovered VLEs!

  22. Now they knew how to furnish their home

  23. But everyone had to chip in

  24. So the questions they asked themselves were….

  25. What could I do?

  26. What could WE do?

  27. What could THEY do?

  28. …to transform this home into a vibrant virtual community of practice?
