Health Insurance • + iMED Basic Temporary – 1st 3 months OR Global Campus Health MSP Basic Blue Cross Ihaveaplan.ca Extended
iMED---How Does It Work? • Automatic Enrolment • As soon as international students (study permit) register for courses, they are automatically enrolled • The $180.00 iMED fee will be charged to their student account • iMED Card will be sent to students within two weeks • Canadian Citizens & Permanent Residents – purchase temporary health insurance through Global Campus Health if don’t have MSP
iMED---Coverage Date Change • Who arrived on or after in September 2014? • If arriving in the month after the coverage starts • ---Request for date change by completing the Date Change Form and fax to DCIS • Deadline: by the end of the third week of classes • Date change does not apply to one-term exchange students
Medical Services Plan (MSP) • Basic Provincial Health insurance is mandatory if you are residing in BC • 2) 3-month wait period to qualify for MSP (remainder of month arrive plus 2 months) • MSP covers medical appointments, testing, hospitalizations • 4) $69.25 monthly fee
UBCSUO Health & Dental – Blue Cross • Extended health insurance – student automatically enrolled • 2) OPT-Form if proof of alternate coverage provided • 3) Full- year coverage – Sept. 1/12-Aug.31/13 - $250.52 • Covers up to 80% dental fees and prescription drugs, out of province/country emergency treatment, physiotherapy, massage.. • See Student Union for more details regarding coverage
