RELIEF MAPS A map that shows the unevenness of a surface. Some relief maps are three-dimensional. • How are they different from other maps? What is a relief map? The main purpose is to show elevation. They may also have physical and political features
RELIEF MAPS What additional information can relief maps provide for us? Level 1(Green) 0 - 1,150 Feet Level 2 (Yellow) 1,150 – 4,500 Feet Level 3(Orange) 4,500 – 8,200 Feet Level 4(Red) 8,200 – 18,000 Feet • Add the Pacific Ocean on your map. • Shade in brown the Gobi Desert • Draw in the Himalayas • Draw in the Great Wall of China
