  1. Welcome MRS. HARRIS 7TH & 8TH GRADE Language Arts Per 1, 2, 3, 4

  2. Classroom Information • Grades- PowerSchool online: Cajon Park / Overview • Ipads, cell phones- backpacks • Bathroom, out of class • Computer Access

  3. Language Arts • Literature & Reading: with an emphasis on non-fiction • Writing- with evidence • Grammar & Language • Listening & Speaking

  4. Homework • Can be every night: usually brief • Use planner to organize • Reduce distractions • On my class website: Santee District Cajon Park Staff websites Harris • Difficult to catch up if get behind

  5. If a student is absent he/she must either call a friend or go to my staff website. to get the assignment Depending on the situation, LATE WORK CAN BE PENALIZED!! Option: Students may come in after school to complete an assignment and/or to get extra help. Absences & Late Work

  6. Step Card Systemin the planner • Verbal Warning or Step 1 • Step 2: Teacher/Student confer & problem solve • Step 3: Parent Contact • Step 4: Parent contact & LOP List • Step 5: In-School Suspension

  7. PTSA Membership Become involved and give to the school . . . The Parent Teacher Student Association *organizes school and grade level fundraisers and activities *provides funds for field trips, assemblies, special programs, extra curricular activities *supports teachers and classes with extra resources and needs *does many more things for our school
