  5. Summarise a given set of information • What is the booklet about? Page 3 • Summarise the historical background to Belfast. (p3) • What were the responsibilities of the Laganside Corporation? (p4-5) • How successful has it been? • What further ideas do the Corporation have for development in the area? (p6)

  8. Summarise a given set of information • Summarise the key features of Item 6

  9. Identify problems/issues/concerns • Identify the problems existing in inner city Belfast when the Laganside corporation was set up. • To what extent did the Laganside Corporation address these issues? • To what extent is it true that Laganside only dealt with problems associated with the physical structure of the inner city and left the social problems untouched?

  10. Identify problems/issues/concerns • How did the projects work provide solutions to the problems of unemployment? • To what extent are the problems of inner city Belfast economic and social rather than political? • The SOA data for the Duncairn areas is extremely varied. Highlight the key issues which need to be addressed.

  11. Consider a variety of proposals • Examine the proposals on page 6. To what extent would these enhance Laganside’s legacy? • To what extent would these help to solve the problems of inner city areas such as Duncairn?

  12. Evaluate each of the proposals • Evaluate each of the proposals made on page 6. • Assess the value of the Corporation’s projects in the light of its objectives. (page 4)

  13. Place these proposals in rank order • Put the proposals in rank order from most important/useful to least important

  14. Justify that rank order

  15. Recommend the best way to manage the proposals in the light of possible problems/conflicts • What problems could arise as a result of the implementation of the proposed schemes? • Now suggest a way round the problems identified

  16. Examine the difficulties that may arise in implementation • Identify any difficulties in the implementation of the proposals. • Which are the most significant difficulties? • Why?

  17. Make a decision • What are you going to do?

  18. Justify a decision • Explain why.

  19.
