  1. PUT OFF & PUT ON– THE ARMOUR OF GOD 12th JUNE 2016

We are in a Spiritual war • 10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

  3. We are in a Spiritual war • 13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armour so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armour of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

  4. 2 Dimensions • Natural realm vs Spiritual realm • If you do not know how to protect your spirit then Satan can freely attack & gain access.

  5. Devil attacks 6 areas • Truth & lies/ deception • Standing in God... Righteousness... Our identity. Discover who u are thru the breastplate of righteousness. • Peace - Emotions... Fear Confusion, depression anxiety... • Area of faith- • Discouragements  Disappointments disillusionment  doubt  unbelief.

  6. Devil attacks 6 areas 5. Mind – • Attacks with all sorts of thoughts. • Gods thoughts become your thoughts. 6. Speech – • He will attack your words... • Declare Gods word rather than confessing negative things.

  7. PUT ON THE ARMOUR OF GOD • The Spiritual gifts are WEAPONS – whatever we do is spiritual warfare • Spiritual armour is a spiritual filter that can shield off the darts of the devil

  8. Belt of Truth • Loins – inner private parts, alertness, sensing • Be ALERT & TUNE INTO the Holy Spirit • Put off your old clothes, put on the new • (open yourself to God) • Eph 5:14, 1 Pet 1:13

  9. Belt of Truth • Ephesians 5:14 • for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” • 1 Peter 1:13 • Therefore, preparing your minds for action,and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Belt of Truth • I put off lies and deception from my heart. • I reject all lies, deception & falsehood in my soul (mind, will & emotions) and spirit and I’m tuning in to truth alone. • Jesus is the truth – the way the truth and the LIFE. • My spirit will be able to discern whether – what I’m receiving is truth or lies.

  11. Breastplate of Righteousness • Chest (heart) • Cleanse yourself - Get right with God • Cut off the past • Clear conscience • No condemnation [1 John 1:7, 3:20, 21, 5:14]

Breastplate of Righteousness • Opposite of Righteousness is SIN • not doing things in Gods order. • I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.  19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 

  13. Breastplate of Righteousness • 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. • 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited (too much self/ my ways), provoking one another, envying one another.

  14. Breastplate of Righteousness • Opposite of Righteousness is SIN, iniquity, rebellion • Put off any sin and unrighteousness… renounce it from my heart and I believe right now that I’m in right standing with you. • Deal with any guilt that condemns. Any feelings of unworthiness. • I believe that God wants to use me/ us. • I can come boldly before the throne of Grace…

  15. SHOES – peace from the Gospel • For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. • Move in Peace • Restful Spirit when moving in gifts • Peace with all men [Col 3:15] [Phil 4:7] • There is an atmosphere for the Holy Spirit likes to operate in – • Righteousness, Joy and peace in the Holy Spirit .

  16. SHOES – peace from the Gospel • Get rid of opposite of peace – conflict, turmoil, disharmony, anger, bitterness • The God of peace comes to CRUSH – the enemy. • I RENOUNCE all my fears in the name of Jesus • I renounce all my cares, worries, fear, every confusion and I enter into the peace of God. Jesus you are the prince of peace. • Let the peace of God REIGN & RULE in my heart.

  17. Shield of Faith • Shield of Faith • Total Body & head • - Repel or reject negative thoughts or doubt [fiery darts]

Shield of Faith • If you are filled with DOUBT & UNBELIEF the devil will still be able to penetrate through. • Learn to DOUBT your DOUBTS • I can do all things through Christ in faith. • Declare - I have mountain moving FAITH, supernatural, prophecy, miracles, healings, divine appointments, breakthroughs • E.g. glass of water with sand & stones • Don’t pray, “God give me more faith,” rather, God help my unbelief.

  19. Helmet of Salvation • Head/ Mind • Put on the mind of Christ [1 Cor 2:16] • Put off double-mindedness • Corrupt mind, perverse mind • Gird up loins of our mind • His thoughts are our thoughts • Is it God Satan or me?

  20. 8 States of Mind • A Willing/ Zealous mind vs. Weary/fainting mind • 2 Cor. 8:12 • A Focused mind vs. Double minded (doubtful) - Isaiah 26:3 & Romans 15:6 • Sound-sober mind vs. alienated/reprobate • Loving mind vs. disrespectful/ despising mind • Humble mind vs. Prideful • Pure mind vs corrupt mind • Wise mind vs. blinded/foolish • Spiritual vs. Carnal mind

  21. The Sword of the Spirit • The Word of God. • RHEMA not LOGOS. • Comes from the RHEMA of God. The Living Word - Revelation

  22. Then Stand and PRAY IN THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT • Be in tune & stay in tune with the Lord.
