(Step 1) PEG Backbone Peak (MW is obtained from MALDI-TOF) (Step 2) Methoxy Peak is set at 3 (Step 3) -OH Peak is now read: 0.9914 mPEG 20K – Diol Content by NMR In theory, with the methoxy peak (3H) set at 3, the –OH peak (1H) should be 1.0 When the –OH peak reads more than 1.0, it indicates presence of diol. If the –OH value is 1.10, the diol content is calculated as 5%.
