Corner units In order to maximize the space in the library, corner units will be used. These units are comfortable spaces where students can read and explore in the library. They are made of vinyl fabrics in an effort to keep them clean and sanitary. Most of the furniture is moveable. Moveable final furniture is a perfect option for a tight space. Cozy ready corner with book shelf included and comfy chairs. Bean bag chairs in different sizes are an inexpensive and comfy choice. These triangular pieces are perfect, and stackable. This reading loft allows for exploration and comfort.
Areas & Colors The colors of the library should be inviting. The palette above is a good choice as it is warm and not distracting. The books will be aligned along the walls, eliminating the shelves in the middle of the room. The laptop cart eliminates the need for too many computers. A few computers can remain in the space by lining them up along the wall as shown in the photograph above.
More Areas This themed area is great, and allows another comfortable and unique atmosphere for students. Books can be stored in the tree. Moveable boards and carts are a great idea for the space. Stackable chairs and foldable tables are another way to save space in a smaller environment.
Librarian Space The current librarian desk takes up a lot of space, and is not used efficiently. By moving the desk into the center of the space, the librarian becomes more accessible to the students. This moveable desk is a great option as it allows the room to be opened up to group work if needed. The overhead of the earth (map) is a great way to integrate the map without using up wall space.
