  1. DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS Seminar series 2008/2009 You are cordially invited to the following seminar Cardiac Monitoring in Pregnancy presented by Michelle Amoroso Date: Friday14thAugust, 2009 Time: 10:00am Location: FSA Rm. 413 Supervisors: Professor Ramsey Saunders (UWI) and Dr DaryoushRassi (SU)

  2. ABSTRACT As treatment options and their effectiveness improve, data from physiological monitoring becomes an increasingly valuable tool for medical intervention. Cardiac monitoring can be a sensitive indicator of one’s state of health. This especially helps cases where health status can change very quickly for the worse. This seminar presents how combined modes of cardiac monitoring can be applied during pregnancy, particularly in the research process initiated in a clinical setting in Wales. It addresses the benefits of utilizing data from fetalmagnetocardiography (FMCG) in addition to data from mainstream modes of electrocardiography (ECG) and haemodynamic parameters for normal pregnancies and diabetic pregnancies.
