Beam Test Hardware Delivery Status Eduardo do Couto e Silva February 18, 2006
High Level Schedule for Hardware • Review of Flight Hardware Handling Plan • April 14 • Arrival of Ancillary Detector from Bari • April 27 • Arrival from CU Hardware from SLAC • May 2 • Start of CU System tests • May 15 • Workshop 2 in Pisa • May 15-18 • CU and Ancillary Systems Test • June 19 • Workshop 3 in Pisa • mid June? • Arrival of Hardware at CERN • July 24 • PS Beam Test Starts • July 27
Update on Reviews • Flight Hardware Handling Plan • Recommendations from Review on Friday (April 14, 2006) • verify that 1x4 grid has been load tested with dummy loads before we proceed with hardware integration • including rotations and additional loads due to transportation) • avoid usage of water as coolant • provide control and monitor temperatures and relative humidity • avoid condensation • using dray air bottles instead of Nitrogen for transportation from Pisa to CERN. • Have one general Healthy & Safety responsible for all operations. • Ship the assembled unit back to SLAC instead of separate items. • Outcome • Praise to Italian Collaborators (Luca et al) for preparing the review • We were authorized to ship flight hardware spares to Italy • Upcoming Reviews by the end of the month • MGSE • CU procedure for integration (LAT-PS-8132)
Hardware Delivery from SLAC • Monday April 17, 2006 • TKRFM8 • ACD FREE card + 2 ACD Tiles • Breakout Boxes • the polarity is not standard in one of them. Jeff Tice will send details to Italy • Tuesday April 18, 2006 • CAL FM101, CAL FM109 • Upcoming deliveries by May 10 (hopefully) • ACD cables (@ SLAC) • already tested at SLAC, will be sent by FedEx • Remaining 3 ACD tiles (@ SLAC) • to be removed from the QualUnit after agreement with I&T • Two 28 V power supply with remote control • sent to company to be converted to 240 V and recalibrated • EGSE for data taking • need feedback ASAP so that we can start procurement • see next slides • Anything else missing?
Eduardo asked Luca, Johan and David to look at the data in detail 10 min muon run had wrong thresholds but FLE trigger works CAL Comprehensive Performance Tests @ SLAC
CISCO switch and shelves standard 19 inch rack 3 computers 2 Dell 1850 with a KVM switch Uninterrupted Power Supplies back-up and filtering Need feedback to start procurement !!! CERN requirements on firewall, switches, IP addresses current baseline NO firewall Pasquale is in contact with CERN UPS requirements filtering and power back-up Gary is investigating that at SLAC Control Room Requirements Cable lengths, space in the control room, space in rack , are shelves needed? Who? EGSE Description (from Ric) May change after feedback from CERN (via Pasquale)
