  2. Theme Passage Heb 10 35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise

  3. Run With Others Hebrews 12 1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses…

  4. Run With Others Hebrews 12 1 … let us lay aside every weight, & the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us

  5. Ecclesiastes 4 9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: 10 If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls & has no one to help him up!

  6. Ecclesiastes 4 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?

  7. Ecclesiastes 4 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

  8. Our tendency, when we get tired & worn down, is to retreat into isolation. Spiritually we do the same, retreat from other Christians & environments that remind us of who we are supposed to be & how we are supposed to be living. To have endurance we have to fight this tendency…

  10. Worship • the presence of God reminds us that we are not alone & brings us companionship & inner strength

  11. Worship • Eph 3 14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven & earth is named,

  12. Worship • Eph3 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith

  13. 2) Prayer speaking to & hearing from God helps us to make a deep connection with God. As we pray it brings us closeness & comfort

  14. 2) Prayer Col 1 10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord & may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, NIV

  15. 2) Prayer Col 1 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might … NIV

  16. 2) Prayer Col 1 11 …so that you may have great endurance & patience, & joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father NIV

  17. 3) Fellowship “It is not good for man to be alone” was the one alteration God made from his original six days of creation.

  18. 3) Fellowship God has always placed his people in groups (marriages, families, tribes, fellowships) so that they might use their experiences & spiritual gifts to help one another

  19. 3) Fellowship Heb10 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love & good deeds. NIV

  20. 3) Fellowship Heb10 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--& all the more as you see the Day approaching. NIV

  21. Do I have meaningful connections with God & others that help me to have endurance…. Or is my loneliness causing me to lack spiritual strength?
