Objetivos • Promover el intercambio cultural entre Oriente y Occidente a través de la enseñanza de la Astronomía • Promover futuras actividades conjuntas de investigación • Difundir la contribución de los árabes a la astronomía y a la ciencia • Proyección social y visibilidad Estrechamente vinculada a los principios y objetivos de la Alianza de Civilizaciones

  3. Azarquiel, Al-Zarqali Abu Ishaq Ibarhim b. Yaya al-Naqqash al-Tudjibí conocido como Al-Zarquiyal Trabajó en Toledo y en Córdoba en el siglo XI • constructor de instrumentos astronómicos • realizó observaciones del Sol, la Luna y los planetas • recopiló las mejores observaciones de la época (Tablas Toledanas) • trabajos teóricos, encontrando discrepancias entre el modelo de Ptolomeo y las órbitas de la Luna y Mercurio
