Typical Problems of TAs Not attending a teaching related meeting Going to lab sessions/exercise classes late or not at all Giving too generous marks for some exercises that he/she grades
Grading exercises wrongly (students who work out their exercises correctly are graded as incorrect) Notes: 1. Suggested solutions by teachers sometimes may have minor problems 2. There might be several ways to work out the same exercise 3. Should be particularly careful when many students work out solutions in the same way that is different from the suggested solution
Has difficulties in preparing correct suggested solutions Solutions: 1. Talk to other TAs 2. Talk to teacher concerned Grades essay type exercises/lab reports by simply giving marks (without giving any comment/correction in text) Such practices are not acceptable
When you give comments. Be careful with your English. If you are not sure whether your English is correct, you might want to use Chinese instead. You can also come to me. I can help you to improve your English.
