Smart city, smart citizens, smart communities THE WISE GRID work + info + social + education Nadia Busato Project manager @Brescia Smart City
SMARTNESS is the oppotunity to get related with a community entirely or in part, providing favourable relationships with closest and environment.
Building the city 2.0 Citizens are not employees or customers, they have to be dealt with on a different basis. So the idea that you can install the smart city like an upgrade and expect people to just live with it – especially when it takes power away from them – means they’re not going to accept it. So you have to engage with them and grow it from the bottom up. Anthony Townsend, Research Director at Institute for the Future author of «Smart cities: Big Data, Civic Hackers, and the Quest for a New Utopia»

Smart citizens There can’t be any innovation without protection, publication, dissemination and public use. Smart citizens must now be among the agents of change.
Smart Community • A Smart Community: • makes a conscious effort to use information technology to transform life. • works within its region in significant and fundamental, rather than incremental, ways. • makes a beneficial transformation to the community itself. • attracts local participation and cooperation among community groups, government, business and education. • increases citizens experience in control over the demands placed upon their lives from the convenience offered by a community-wide information infrastructure
