COSTUME DESIGN • Drawings or actual costumes for the most significant characters • Specific scenes or context in which the character will wear this costume • Explanations regarding the choices you’ve made. Consider the obvious aspects of setting and characterization, as well as the technical aspects, like design, fabric, cost, practicality, etc

  2. SET DESIGN / LOCATION PLAN • Drawings, mapping, or 3D diorama of a key setting • Specific example of its use in at least one scene (what will happen where?) • Explanations regarding the choices you’ve made. Consider props, shapes, colours, use of space. Ensure it’s visually appealing and creates atmosphere

  3. HAIR & MAKE-UP DESIGN • Colour illustrations of front and back head shot, or live model • Specific connection to a particular event in text • Explanations regarding the choices you’ve made. Consider time and place, as well as character’s emotional state, events of the selected scene, etc. • Note: this could include special effect make-up

  4. SOUNDTRACK • CD of existing songs or live performance / recording of self-written music or lyrics • Specific connection to particular events in text • Explanations regarding the choices you’ve made. Consider target audience, mood, time and place, distribution, etc

  6. CASTING CALL • Pictures of existing actors who would be appropriate choices for all main characters • Explanations regarding the choices you’ve made. Consider appearance, personality, salary, acting resume, etc.

  9. WEBSITE • Layered website, including multiple webpages • Both auditory and visual elements • Explanations regarding the choice you’ve made. Consider target audience, information shared, ease of use, etc.

MOVIE POSTER • Full colour computer generated or hand drawn poster promoting the film adaptation • Graphical components (e.g. titling, logo, tag line, release date, rating, etc) • Explanations regarding the choice you’ve made. Consider target audience, information shared, visual appeal, distribution, etc.

  11. MERCHANDISE • Clothing and accessories, graphic novels, DVD covers, video and board games, figurines, director’s notebooks, trading and greeting cards, calendars: There are countless marketing products that are introduced through partnerships with film companies- create one • Explanations regarding the choices you’ve made.
