  1. IB BUSINESS:TRADE FAIR & COMPANY PRESENTATIONS:Wednesday 9th April 2014 FINAL CHECKLIST

  2. Presentation Order Company 1: SnapTrack Company 2: Solaris Company 3: Food Tronic Company 4: Duerme Company 5: Phill Company 6: Culture Shock Company 7:Ecojet

  3. Presentations in the Theatre • Presentations are scheduled in the theatre from 8:30am to 9:20am. • You will have exactly 5 minutes to introduce your company and show your advertisements. • The use of notes by any team member on the stage will result in a grade penalty. However, at the same time, you must have well-structured coordinated presentation. • All group members must say something (at least 30 seconds), but not all group members must speak for the same amount of time • DON’T BE LATE – ENSURE YOU LEAVE FOR SCHOOL A LOT EARLIER THAN NORMAL

  4. What should be included in my powerpoint? • Pictures of the products. • Graphs on sales performance or market research. • Avoid showing complex financial statements, but you could include graphs on future or past sales revenue or profitability. • 1 challenge your company faced and how you managed to overcome this challenge

  5. Use of Music • If you want to include any sound-tracks or music to create a dramatic entry, please give me this clip on a flash drive ASAP. • Clearly indicate how much of the song you want played and where during the presentation.

  6. Engage the Audience • You must be passionate and excited about your product. • You could attempt to engage the audience in some way, but it would have to be brief.

  7. Questions at the end of the presentation • All groups will receive 1 to 2 questions from the panel of judges at the end of the presentation. • You should keep your responses to a maximum of 30 seconds.

  8. TRADE FAIR CHECKLIST • The Trade Fair will take place immediately after the presentations in the theatre. 9:20 to 9:40am • It will occur during breakfast. • Therefore you must set up your corporate stand, prior to going the theatre at 8:30am. • It would be absolutely essential to have at least 1 or 2 members at school by 8:00am to set up the stand. • Tables will be set up in the cafeteria for this purpose.

  9. Food Items & Beverages • Your group must bring a good selection of food and or beverages that demonstrate some level of effort or creativity. • A packet of crips is not considered an effort. • A Good Effort Example: In the past years some groups have produced cupcakes with the brand logo in icing on the top – you don’t have to go this far, but is a excellent example of what is possible. • The Chocolate fountain has been very popular in previous years.

  10. Corporate Merchandise • You must have a range of corporate merchandise available at your stand. • This could include rulers, pens, pencils, hats, with your logo on it. This can be a simple sticker place on a cheap ruler. • You may also have a corporate bag, with the items inside. These bags would be available to teachers, judges.

  11. Brochures • You must have least 5 brochures in colors. • You should also have about 20 other brochures in black & white.

  12. Prototype or Model of your product. • For many groups it may be difficult to produce a prototype or model of the product. • However, at the very minimum you will have a computer image of the product on your laptop. • Of course you will also have your banners/posters.

  13. Business Cards • You must all have business cards to handout during the day. • The business cards, must have your name/position. • They should you also feature the company website and phone numbers.

  14. Corporate Uniform • All members must be dressed in professional attire (eg: suits) or alternatively in a corporate uniform you have designed. • You can wear this corporate uniform the whole day, not just for the trade fair. • It would be desirable to come to school in this dress, as there will be little time to change.
