Medical Magnet updates • Web site updated with all the forms students and parents need • New GPA requirements starting with the Sophomore class this year. 10th- Maintain a 2.3 9th- Maintain a 2.0 11th/12th- Maintain a 2.5
Deadlines-ALL • All students attended a meeting the first week of school and received a packet of paperwork in regards to the program that was due on September 3rd please return forms #9 and #10 as soon as possible
Deadlines- Juniors • Buying Scrubs • First Scrub day is 10/31/13 (Friday) • All Notarized Paperwork to go on observations by Sept 12th • All vaccinations are due by Oct 31 • Personal Trainer- Buying a Collared Polo • The outcome of that meeting is a new agreement between PHUHS and BayCare that our Allied Health students will only be required to have one negative TB test before beginning their shadowing experiences. In other words, they do not need the 2 step TB testing this year! I do not know what the requirement will be for next year when students may perform direct patient care. If you have already completed the 2 step TB test, it will not have to be repeated next year.
Deadlines-Seniors • Bring Scrubs in to get embroidery • First Scrub day is 10/31/13 • All Notarized paperwork to go on clinicals which will begin in January by Sept 12th • All vaccinations are due by Oct 31 • Personal Trainer- Buying a collared polo
Scrub Ceremony • 10/30/13 • All Juniors and their parents are invited to attend a ceremony to recognize the honor of wearing the scrubs • Each Junior will be presented with a lanyard which are a required part of their uniform to go on observations at the hospital

Robin Rives competed in Prepared Speaking. Alyssa Gizzo and LexiGagliadotto competed in Career Health Display and won First Place out of 50+ teams
Next CWMP Meeting • 11/12/13 @ 6:30 • Ms. Funsten Medical Guidance Counselor will go over volunteer requirements(medical and bright futures), testing info, scholarship info • Ms. Dupee will outline certification opportunities and what each year in the medical program provides for your student
Question/Answer • Q-Do Seniors have to have skin test twice or only once? • A-CNA students will still need to complete the 2 step skin test because it is hands on • Q-Will students be able to get a quality point for the personal trainer course? • A- Per the state CNA is the only weighted honors course. • Q-Is the personal trainer course only for Seniors and how many classes are offered? • A-Yes the personal trainer course is only for Seniors and Ms. Webb teaches two classes.
