What should be in the data presentation section? • take each site for the environmental survey - describe and explain the answers • describe the results of the questionnaire • for each prediction you have made describe what the results show and how they relate to the hypothesis • answer the hypothesis
Task 1 • Take each site for the environmental survey - describe and explain the answers • For example: • Site one achieved an average score of 7.6 for vacant and derelict land. This is because..... • Site one achieved an average score of 0.4 for open space and grassy areas because..... • Important to use figures in answers and try to explain them • When explaining use the map to help you – look for housing patterns and land use zones.
The predictions • At the start of the coursework you created 10 predictions • For each prediction you must say if they were correct or not and why • Use the figures and link back to the main hypothesis
The predictions • For example: • I predict most people in the north ward of Cleethorpes will live in terraced houses • This is correct as my questionnaire showed that out of the 6 people asked who lived in north ward 5 people did. I expected this because when I looked at an OS map of Cleethorpes I could see that most of the roads in the North ward were in grid patterns which is typical of pre-war terraced housing in this country. I believe that this shows people in North ward to have a lower quality of life than those in South ward because they live in smaller houses......(link to south ward results)
Answering the Hypothesis • Our hypothesis: People living in South ward will have the highest quality of life. • I believe to have a high quality of life you should have...... • In South ward people’s cars on average are less than 3 years old whereas in North ward people’s cars on average are more than 6 years old. This suggests people in South ward have more money and thus have a higher quality of life.
