  2. Heat waves are short-lived. Winds from the southwest bring the brightest weather in the spring and early summer. Same winds will make it quite sticky from mid-July on. Thunderstorms are regular part of the summer with a couple each week. Prevailing Winds- SW Cumulus clouds bubble up first – some grow into thunderstorms June, August and early September are the wettest periods. Expect rain about every third day with an inch of rain about once every 6 weeks.
