  2. HOMESTAYS • High Bluff Academy can place international students with American families who have children of a similar age. All families are carefully screened and once the child arrives, the homestay arrangement is closely monitored so that both the families and the student are as comfortable as possible.

Homestay families provide the following: • A comfortable single or double room in a clean and safe family home • Two meals a day in the home and a packed lunch on school days • Transportation to and from school each day • Transportation to after-school activities • Family activities on the weekends • Trips to the doctor when necessary • Help with homework when needed • A chance to speak English and learn about American culture • Legal guardianship
