WHAT IS A WIKI? • An interactive website which YOU can edit • YOU can easily add, remove and edit webpage content • No HTML knowledge is required • Collaborative authoring: a new approach to publishing • “Each contributor has an equal ability to add, edit, and remove text. The writing process becomes a recursive task, where each change prompts others to make more changes.” • Wiki makes collaboration easy • Share ideas • Share documents, e.g. pdfs, Word • Share resources, e.g. links to useful websites

MAPNET WIKI FEATURES • Security enabled • Outside users cannot view the MapNet Wiki • You need to register to view/edit content • Current events page • Use to inform others of upcoming events, e.g. conferences, courses • Contactspage • A list of all MapNet participants • Historyand Recent Changes pages • All changes are recorded, including author’s name, date, time • Reverting to an earlier version is easy if a mistake is made
