  1. Big Idea: We are called to stand strong against Satan using the Armor of God and Prayer.

  2. We are called to stand strong against Satan • (6:10-13)

  3. Application Acknowledge there is a spiritual battle going on and prepare yourself.

  4. We stand strong by putting on the Armor of God. • (v.14-17)

  5. but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. Isaiah 11:4–5

  6. Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist. Isaiah 11:4–5

  7. How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7

  8. He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak. Isaiah 59:17

  9. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8–9

  10. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 1 Peter 5:8–9

  11. Application We use the armor of God by preaching the gospel to: Ourselves Fellow believers Non-believers

  12. 3. We stand strong in prayer. (v.18-20)

  13. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. Romans 8:26–27

  14. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. Romans 8:26–27

  17. Application In order for us to be able to put on the armor of God our lives need to be covered in prayer.
