William Chargaff • Education: Student at University of Vienne and Yale University • Earned doctorate in biochemistry • Areas of Research: Professor/biochemist at Columbia University • Provided the ground work for Watson and Crick • Made the pairing rules of GC AT. • Got the National Medal of Science for Biological Sciences

  3. Rosalind Franklin • Enrolled in Newnham College in 1939 • Earned doctorate in physical chemistry • While Wilkins is away, she discovered the shape of DNA and he stole the work. • Died of ovarian cancer and did not receive the Nobel prize.

  4. Maurice Wilkins • Studied physics with the Natural Sciences Tripos. Went to The University of Birmingham and St. John’s College Cambridge • Worked at colleges, he was a doctor, professor, and a researcher • Took the credit from Rosalind Franklin

  5. Francis Crick • Studied physics, got his bachelors in science • Went to get his PhD but it got interrupted by WWII. Eventually got it from Gonville and Caius College • Helped James Watson find the shape of DNA in 1953
