  1. GYM NIGHT 2019 PARENT INFORMATION MEETING

  2. Organization of Exhibitions • ·Must be approved before it’s taught. Additional changes must be RE-APPROVED. • ·No Flying • ·Exhibition Times: • 12th 12 minutes (2 square dancing) • 11th 10 minutes • 10th 10 minutes • 9th 7 minutes • ·No off site practices.

  3. PROPS PROPS: · MEASUREMENTS: (when not in use) HEIGHT: 10 feet LENGTH: 6 feet WIDTH: 6 feet ·During exhibition prop can then extend. ·All props MUST HAVE 4” wheels on them. ·Keep in mind spectators. ·Lights of any kind are not permitted on costumes, in exhibitions, on props, or decorations. (EXCEPT GLOW-STICKS)

  4. PROPS Seniors: 2 Props (maximum) 10th & 11th :1 Prop Must be approved by the supervisors! Props will be checked. Must meet requirement or it will not be used. The above prop dimensions will not fit through the outside/gym doors. Must come in pieces and be assembled.

  5. DECORATIONS • Decorations/mural hung the Thursday prior to Gym Night. Time to be determined. • Bleachers and Gymnasium only. • At the close Thursday a photo will be taken of each side. • Balloons only thing hung after Thursday. • Posters should be made prior to hanging. • Mural will be check prior to hanging to make sure it is appropriate. • REMINDER! The mural is not your only decoration that is being judged.

  6. The Mural/Art Supervisor • New rule: Final mural will be inspected prior to hanging. • Must be generated by a current Neshaminy student. • A write-up must be included for each judge that states: How was the mural designed? Who is the main designer of the mural? What was the inspiration for creating the mural? • Mural schedule will be created by Art Supervisor. • Supervisors must be informed of every hour you are working on the mural. • All modifications of original artwork must be pre-approved, no surprises. Mural has to be completed in 50 hours. The mural will be checked prior to hanging.

  7. OBTAINING SPONSORS • Students must go into the community to obtain a sponsor. $10.00 = One Line(50 characters) $25.00 = Business Card $50.00 = ¼ page $100.00 = ½ page $200.00 = Full Page $500.00 = Back of program book $500.00 = Inside back or inside front cover book $1000.00 = Back of T-Shirt (can be divided) ·Please use the sponsor sheet provided no altering the sheet. ·Final draft of program front cover will be approved by both Art Supervisors.

  8. Music • Music draft is ran by Mr. Miller. • Winning team from the previous year will start the music draft. • Song lists must include the following: • Correct name of song. • Artist/Lyrics • No “holding” songs for another team.  Each individual team must have their own song list.  • Just because the song is approved does not mean specific parts are approved. • (Supervisors will approve the part of the song and lyrics being used.) • Individual supervisors have the “Final Say” over music selections. • Some songs may not be approved if they “sound like”, are “bleeped out” or deemed inappropriate by the supervisor.  • The NHS digital recording classes is available to create music and or voice overs.

  9. MONEY • All receipts must be of Gym Night items only. • Receipts must be the original receipts. • Receipts must be itemized! • No credit card receipts, vouchers or invoices. Receipts must include: • Who items were purchased from. • What was purchased. • That it was paid. • Treasurers will make all deposits. • You must use your own money first. • Receipts will be submitted via the treasurer for reimbursement. • Please contact “Adult Treasurer” prior to purchases. • Contact between treasurer, adult treasure and Mrs. Geruc is frequent.

  10. Things to Remember! • Contact between captains & supervisors will be with Remind 101 • Barns & Noble Night- Dec 14th– Captains must attend (in shifts) • Participant packets • Clean-up/extra practice • On-line Clothing Store • Parents at practice/mural • Mural locations/Mural check prior to hanging • Tickets/wristbands • Electronic permission forms • No PE/ No Gym Night • If you are leaving practice early/coming late a note is required. • Captains must be passing all classes during the Gym Night season • Last date to join – 1/31/18
