  5. . ClosingconferenceWaterfriend . SWQI -Serbian Water Quality Index foreseen to inform public, experts and decision makers (local municipality, government institution). This indicator is based on the method ofWater Quality Index (Development of a Water Quality Index, Scottish Development Department, Engineering Division, Edinburgh, 1976.) in which 10 parameters areagregated in 1 index.

  7. . ClosingconferenceWaterfriend Black spot in Europe - Great Bačka channel(Crvenka-Kula-Vrbas) . • Channel was constructed in 1793. • In this section (20 km) it collects wastewaters from 9 large enterprises.

  8. EMISSIONS IN NATURAL WATERS . ClosingconferenceWaterfriend . Untreated industrial and sewage wastewaters are the main source of water pollution in Serbia. Establishment of Register of pollution sources according to newRegulation (from 2010) whichis harmonised with European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR - prtr.ec.europa.eu) is in progress and it is very important. In 2010 the datas were delivered from only – 79 public enterprisesand 94 industrial companies (besides some of datas were not completed).

On the territory of АPVojvodinaare registered 497 water polluters: • Industry 326 • food 118 • other 208 • Settlements 44 • Animal farms 113 • Оther 14 From 497 polluters: • Do not treated wastewater 343 • Treated (with sewage water) 71 • Treated (onlyprimary) 83 70 %

  12. Law on water (from 2010 year)It relates on all waters (surface and underground) andexploitation of riverdeposits. . ClosingconferenceWaterfriend . Discharge of wastewaters is regulated in detail by following from 2011 and 2012 application of the new laws up to the end of 2032 year
