Archetypal Message/Theme/Lesson Three Major Themes: Just as God has dominion over everything, Man has dominion over the earth. “Humans were placed in that world as God's image and likeness, to be its rulers” (Vwater). Men and women belong together as companions. God will provide for humankind.
Archetypal characters The Innocent- Adam, without sin. The Loyal Sidekick- Eve, made to be Adam’s companion. The Caretaker- God, provides for both Adam and Eve.

Cultural significance • The story of Adam and Eve in the Garden is Aetiologicalexplaining how mankind came into existence. • This story is instructional in that it teaches men to obey God. It is also a charter story that helps to explain marriage.
