3 Easy Steps To Set Up Multiple Domain Mapping In WordPress A major reason for WordPress’ popularity is the convenience it offers to users. You do not need to write code or hire a professional for conducting many tasks. They can be easily done through plugins or simple tricks which are not too technical. One such task is to set up multiple domain mapping in WordPress. It is used when you want multiple URLs that are located elsewhere to link to your primary website. Many people run multisite installations which are a collection of more than one website operating on a single WordPress installation. The process helps such users map all the domains to a single page. In this tutorial, we will discuss how to do the job easily through a plugin.
Install A Suitable Plugin Access the admin dashboard of your installation through your username and password. In the menu, locate the option called Plugins and go to Add new. On the screen, you will see a search box, where you must type Multiple Domain Mapping on Single Site. This is the plugin we will be using in this tutorial. You will be presented with a list of search results when you press enter after typing the plugin’s name. Use the image given below to locate the correct option in the results.
Add The Page To Which Domains Will Point To We will now add the page to which all the domains will be pointing to. In the control panel menu, click on Pages and then choose the Add New option. The Gutenberg editor will now open where you will have to add the name of the new page. Enter a name of your choice for the new section. In the menu on the right-hand side, you will see a section called Permalink. Make sure the URL in the URL Slug box is just as you want it to be.
Map The Domains To The New Page We will now map all the domains to the new page which we created in the previous step. Go back to the admin dashboard and locate the Tools section in the menu. In it click on the Multidomain option. This will open the settings screen of the plugin. In the first tab called Mapping, you will see fields for entering the URLs. in the first field, enter the URL that you want to map and in the second provide the URL created in the previous step. In case you are confused, look at the bottom of the boxes, where their purpose is clearly mentioned. The message under the first box reads Enter the domain you want to map.
