Barack ObamaThe Death of Osama Bin Laden By: Brittany Jones 3rd block
Historical Background • On May 1, 2011 Barack Obama made a speech about Osama Bin Laden’s death. • Obama made this speech because Osama has been a threat to the United States nation every since 9/11. This speech was important and everyone needed to know the BIG news. It was a big relief to this nation hear the speech of his death.
Summary • Barack Obama is talking about Osama Bin Laden being killed. Where they found him at and how they planned to kill him. He also talks about the attacks on 9/11, stating that al Qaeda will continue to plan attacks against us. Killing Osama was the biggest achievement in the United States. We are not at war with Islam and never will be. Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader; he was a murderer of Muslims. That night they were reminded that America can do what ever they set their mind to. Let us remember that we can do these things not just because of wealth or power, but because of who we are: one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
My Point of view • I think that it is a big relief to our nation that Osama is dead, because it isn’t as big of a threat anymore. But like Obama said they are probably planning another attack on us. This was a good topic because Osama has been wanted for nearly over 10 years.
