Current Status Punjab is entering its Very High Risk Period for virus. • India to date has 29 WPVs including 9 WPV type 1 and 20 WPV type 3 cases • NO P1 cases reported from UP & Bihar since Oct/Nov 2009 • Majority of Punjab cases in past 3 years are related to migrants. • Last case was in Oct 2009 in Ludhiana. • Low level circulation is believed to be continuing • Intensified efforts need to be sustained
