    1. Geometry Control – Modifying and Relimiting; Using Axes and Transformation Ideas Chapter 2: 2.4 & 2.5 R. Lindeke IE 1225

    2. Starts in 2.4 – Playing in Complex Geometries Trimming under control Closing and Complementing Using the Tool Bars & your Mouse

    3. Set Millimeter as Units Grid: 100; 10 and Snap Off – Constraints On

    4. Constrain for size and then position: (25 x 50 to XY zero)

    5. Pad to 100 mm!

    6. Edit the Sketch: 1st Remove Bottom Line horizontal Const. 2nd Remove Right Side Vertical Const. Finally, Remove Locational Constraints (object is red! ---underconstrained) Select the Lower right point and drag it with your mouse – to the “V-shape” This will automatically redefine your pad!

    7. Enter Sketcher on Right Face

    8. Draw and Constrain 2x30 mm dia. Circles

    9. The 2 intersecting lines were double “Broke”

    10. Further Modifications: Sketch on the last Pad “3D project” the edges of the arcs – then Isolate them from the part After isolation: Close the Top one Complement the lower – and connect the ends with a line These sketches will form a 3rd pad away from the face!

    11. Make Sure the Bottom Arc and Line Close the lower edge & Pad to 10mm:

    12. Draw and Constrain 2 Rectangles – Double Click the Constraint ICON to string together constraints as needed!

    13. 1st Corner: Pick corner point, then Tab to Radius and type 8 (then tab again)! 2nd Corner: Select both lines then tab to radius, type 5 and tab!

    14. Apply Chamfers to outside corners – will be easy if rectangles dimensions were limited not lengths!

    15. Finally POCKET this ‘Rectangles’ Sketch “Up to Last”

    16. Lets spend a few minutes with Axes, Shaft, Mirror and their Kind – Tutorial 2.5 We are going to model a Wagon Wheel – the easy way! We can develop simple geometries and revolve (or SHAFT) them about axes Symmetrical shapes can be copied in many patterns – so why make them more than once!

    17. Draw and Constrain the Profile

    18. Might be quicker to Fillet the corners before shafting the sketch

    19. Choose Shaft and Fill in as below:

    20. Sketch on YZ plane – draw Axis and draw and Constrain Profile for Hub

    21. Get Reference Elements Tools – we will be defining a new plane relative to original XY plane!

    22. Adding Working (Additional Sketch) Planes is the true power of 3D Cad design!

    23. We made it – lets use it – enter sketcher on this plane (see location in Part Tree)

    24. One of the Ellipses – ready for “Rotated Array”

    25. Follow the Instruction in the message line! Object – Center or Axis (here the center point) - Angle

    26. Pad the Spokes to 11 mm – then Fillet all the edges of the spokes (all 16 of them!)

    27. Pick and Roll ‘til all “side faces” are Highlighted – all 16 of them too!

    28. Now for finishing the Hub Details – Using Symmetry and Mirror

    29. I selected all 3 sides of the Constrained Triangle – Then Mirror Icon – then the Axis!

    30. After Selecting each side of both Triangles – Then Mirror (1 instance) and the Center – Exit Sketcher and Pocket ‘Up to Last’

    31. Finished Product – done easily with Transformations and “Shafting Power”
