  2. What is Model United Nations? • Simulation of a UN meeting

  3. What is Model United Nations? • Participants represent a country

  4. What is Model United Nations? • Various committees: UN General Assembly, European Council, UN Security Council, US National Security Council, etc.

  5. What is Model United Nations? • Purpose: Through cooperation with other countries, the committee will seek to pass a resolution to address the issue.

  6. What is Model United Nations? • Activities: Debate, negotiation, drafting resolution, voting etc.

  7. Methods • Specific Rules of Procedure, similar to parliamentary procedures of the UK and the USA • Rules of Procedure are always publicised and tailored to fit the quality of the delegates as well as the purpose of the committee

  8. Code of Conduct • Dress code: formal. • Language: predominantly English. However, there can be rooms with other languages

  9. Code of Conduct • Formal, friendly and cooperative • Refrain from using first and second pronouns
