CIX Network Types Side-By-Side CIX I/O Master CIX Communications Master
CIX I/O Master Networks • A single product can “spare” all units • Remotes (max): 8 • Maximum unique I/O channels (points): • 8 discrete inputs • 8 discrete outputs • 4 analog inputs • 4 analog outputs
CIX Communications Master Networks • Master and Remotes are different products • Remotes (max): 16 • Maximum unique I/O channels (points): • 128 discrete inputs • 128 discrete outputs • 64 analog inputs • 64 analog outputs
CIX6x30 & CIX6x35 • The CIX64xx and CIX65xx products are identical expect for the RF module: • 902 – 928MHzCIX6430 / CIX6435 • 2.4 – 2.4835GHzCIX6530 / CIX6535 • Backward compatible with all DAX and CIX products CIX6530 has Identical Appearance CIX6535 has Identical Appearance
CIX6430 / CIX6530 Features (1) • Uses latest technology RF module offering AES256 encryption • All SRM RF module features available • Single unit supports I/O master or I/O Slave operation • EX-Linc full duplex port (RS232 and RS485) for CIX/EXR expander and I/O configuration • LincView OPC support
CIX6430 / CIX6530 Features (2) • Discrete I/O Terminals • 8 discrete inputs for self-sensing of dry contacts • 8 discrete 24VDC open collector outputs @ 100 ma continuous • LED indicator for each discrete • On Comm Error (LED) each Remote output is configurable to off, on, or hold last value • Analog I/O Terminals • 12 bit resolution • 4 single ended analog inputs • 4 single ended analog outputs • Each analog output is configurable for 0-20ma,4-20ma or 0-10VDC • On Comm Error (LED) each Remote output is configurable to assigned value or hold last value
CIX/EXR Wired Extender • Wired version (no RF module) of a CIX6x30 • Wire connects to a CIX6x30 for I/O point expansion via EX-Linc RS232 or RS485 • RS232 distance not to exceed 50 feet and a single CIX/EXR • RS485 total wire not to exceed 4000 feet and 7 CIX/EXR remotes • Cannot be a Master • Adds to Remote count
CIX6x30 Internal Diagram • The internal switches are typically not used except: • SW 6 I/O - (default position) Used for I/O module config & CIX/EXR master connected • SW 6 RF – Used for RF module config & CIX/EXR Remote connected
Discrete Outputs & Protection • These outputs are designed to operate the coil of a 12 or 24VDC relay • With all eight outputs enabled simultaneously, each can drive up to 100ma • If only four outputs are used, each can drive up to 200ma • The “P” terminal provides inductive load voltage suppression for each output
CIX6x30 as Master - Discrete I/O • Remote Inputs - The same discrete input terminal from all Remotes are OR’d to be the Master output terminal • Each master discrete input terminal becomes the same terminal output at all Remotes
CIX6x30 as Master – Analog I/O (1) • Take the Master view perspective • There are 4 analog inputs, 4 analog outputs • When configuring analogs, AI and AO are assigned as pairs (so there are 4 pairs) • AI1 and AO1 are a pair • AI2 and AO2, are a pair… • Starting from Remote 1, Remotes are assigned 0 to 4 AI/AO Master pairs • The AI/AO pairs are assigned to Remotes in sequential order starting with the first AI/AO pair
CIX6x30 as Master – Analog I/O (2) • In this example: • Remote 1: 1 AI/AO pair • Remote 2: 2 AI/AO pairs • Remote 3: 1 AI/AO pair • A Remote could be assigned zero analogs • Notice the Remote analogs always begin with terminal 1 so Remote 3 terminal 1 are Master terminal 4
CIX6435 / CIX6535 Features (1) • Is always a Master • RF module supports AES256 encryption • Cannot wire connect to a CIX/EXR • LincView OPC Support • Up to 16 CIX Remotes per network • A maximum of 384 points • Each I/O terminal on each Remote is uniquely addressable
CIX6435 / CIX6535 Features (2) • Communicates with user equipment via • Ethernet (10/100baseT) with auto MDX • Or serial RS232 or RS485) • Never both • Ethernet Protocols • Ethernet/IP • ModbusTCP • Serial Protocols • Modbus RTU • DF1
CIX6435 / CIX6535 Functional Diagram • User Equipment reads from & writes to the CIX Master(Ethernet or serial, never both) • The CIX Master continually & sequentially reads from & writes to Remote CIX units
Communication I/O Data Exchange • User equipment must support one of these protocols: • Ethernet/IP (Ethernet port) • Modbus TCP (Ethernet port) • DF1 full duplex (Serial port) • Modbus RTU (Serial port) • Using Allen-Bradley PLCs, communication is performed using ordinary ladder MSG read and MSG write instructions • Using Schneider PLCs, communication is performed using structured text READ_VAR and WRITE_VAR, other comunication instructions, or NOE modules
Antenna Subsystem • CIX products use SRM RF modules • CIX6530/CIX6535 use SRM 2.4GHz antenna system components • CIX6430/CIX6435 use SRM 900MHz antenna system components
CIX I/O Master Networks • A single product can “spare” all units • Remotes (max): 8 • Network wide maximum I/O points: • 8 discrete inputs • 8 discrete outputs • 4 analog inputs • 4 analog outputs
CIX Communications Master Networks • Master and Remotes are different products • Remotes (max): 16 • Network wide maximum I/O points: • 128 discrete inputs • 128 discrete outputs • 64 analog inputs • 64 analog outputs
CIX Complex & LincView OPC Example • RF modules in P2MP support Master, Repeater, or Repeater/Slave • RF modules in P2P support Master, Repeater or Slave • LincView supports P2MP networks • The V3 RF modules do not support LincView over Ethernet
CIX6x30 Configuration Utility • For each CIX6x30 there are two configuration steps • The I/O module • The RF module • Use CixLincio.exe utility to configure • CIX6430/CIX6530 Master I/O • CIX6530/CIX6530 Remote I/O • Use Configlinc-s.exe utility to configure • CIX6430/CIX6530 Master RF module • CIX6530/CIX6530 Remote RF module • Remotes are assigned a unique Remote Address • Remote numbers must start with 1 for the first Remote, then sequentially for additional Remotes • If using a CIX6x30 Master, the maximum Remotes is 8 • If using a CIX6x35 Master, the maximum Remotes is 16
