Participate in the College in the High School/Cornerstone Program to earn college credit while in high school. Save money and transfer credits to any college in Washington state. Taught by high school teachers, these courses provide an opportunity for deeper subject exploration.

Why would I want to participate? • Earn college credit and high school credit • Your college credit can be transferred to any college in the state of Washington • Most out-of-state colleges also accept the credit (do your research) • Save MONEY • 5 credit class on campus: $1,221.15 • 5 credit class through Cornerstone: $275.00 • Earning credit is NOT determined by a single test. You earn your grade through the work you do in class • A college class on a HS campus allows for more time with subject matter/teacher

  4. College in the High School / Cornerstone • Courses are actual CWU classes. • Taught by your high school teacher (Adjunct faculty). • 10th, 11th and 12th grade students can enroll.

Pre-requisites • For the most updated list of prerequisites : • https://www.cwu.edu/runningstart/important-formsvideos-0 • Placement Testing • $15 if you test at your school (if your school is setup) • $25 if you test at the CWU-Ellensburg campus • If you qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch testing is FREE

  8. Testing* We accept the following test scores *Students on Free or Reduced Price Lunch will have their CWU Accuplacer Next-Generation testing fees waived.

Things to keep in mind • You are creating a college transcript • You have to request your official transcript in order for the class(es)/credit(s) to transfer • You are a CWU student while you are taking the class • a) Use resources (see our website) • b) Follow CWU policy • Be aware of important dates • a) Withdrawal dates • b) Registration dates • Be aware of the financial obligation • a) Pay your bill on time. If you do not it will impact your ability to register for other classes and/or obtain your transcript • Create your MyCWU account • a) Pay bill, update biographical data, make sure you are registered for the correct classes
