  3. Character and Destination Eric “Froggy” Steel (right) and Stevie “Tadpole” Hatton are trying to reach the Hellgate Trailer park for the sake of kickin’ back and chillin’ with their buddies. While Frog and Tadpole have some serious partyin’ to do with their hommies, traversing the Hellgate landscape is no easy accomplishment. Mencaing dogs, bullies, and the ghost of Mrs. Myrtle all conspire again the Dynamic Duo.

  4. The Journey • Travel south down Randles Street • Proceed east down Speedway • Break left into Hellgate Trailer Park

  5. Adventure #1 • Evening/ the corner of Randles/Speedway • Frog and Tadpole hear a cat meowing on the other side of ’71 Ford pickup. The hood of the pickup is open and the two boys rationalize that it would be funny if they took the cat to Tim’s house. They climb onto the truck’s bumper and begin searching the engine for the cat. Instantly Frog hears Tadpole choking. He raises his head and sees that Buddy Dale, a chain-smoking, Hellgate legend, has his hommie by the neck and is squeezing the life out of him. • Frog confidently announces, “Yo B-Dog, let the ‘Pole go and we’ll give it to you?” After laughing at the language, Buddy grows serious and asks, “Help me find what?” Frog tells Buddie how the two were arguing over a pack of smokes and that he threw them into the open hood of the truck. Like a bolt of lightning, Buddy drops Tadpole to the ground and begins searching under the open hood, his hands moving as frantically as his questions “What kind are they? Are they filtered? Hard or soft pack?” And before Tadpole can formulate a lie, Frog reaches above his head and brings the hood down, across the folded, searching body of Buddy Dale.
