Ichthyology The study of fish.
What does an Ichthyologist do? • They research and graduate education on the worlds fishes (Ichthyology home). • They research their global diversity, evolution, geography, genomics, morphology, conservation, ecology and behavior (Ichthyology home).
Why is it important that they study fish? • Fish are a primary food source, we need to know their behavior, populations, and biological components (Ellis-Christensen). • Scientist research animals and plants because it is important to learn how other species on this planet live because this could give us ideas on ways to improve our living habits (Ellis-Christensen).
What is an Ichthyologist goal? • Their main goal is to get a better understanding about other species and their environments (Ellis-Christensen).
