  1. “Students Leading Students” Peer Resistance Skills Camp ARE YOU A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT WHO CARES ABOUT THEIR YOUNGER PEERS? IF YES, THEN SLS’S STUDENT ADVISORY BOARD INVITES YOU TO ATTEND. Peer Resistance Skills Peer Resistance Skills is a curriculum module lesson in peer pressure and techniques for saying "NO", that is taught by high school students to younger 5th and 6th grade students.  It is proven effective, based on prevention research, and it produces behavior change. Goals: «Reduce the likelihood of younger peers using alcohol, tobacco or other drugs.« Educate younger peers about types of peer pressure they will or have encountered.« Teach younger peers skills and techniques for saying "NO" effectively and appropriately.« Present high school students as positive role models who care about their younger peers. Location:Lapeer (Southeast MI)February 26-28, 2010 Friday 7:00pm – Sunday 1:00pm Michigan Christian Youth Camp www.mcyc.org820 N. Lake George Rd Attica, MI 48412810-664-8040 Training Cost: $1,000.00 per team (6-10 students) *Reduced rate for multiple teams from one school district ($750 a team) Food & Lodging: $60.00 per person includes 4 meals (Sat. 3 Meals; Sun. brunch), overnight accommodations for 2 nights, bonfire and social activities. *Complimentary Pizza Party Friday night provided by SLS Economy Option: Are you within Driving Distances and prefer not to stay? Then save your lodging cost. You can just pay for the training and food ($1,000.00 a team and $6.50 a meal per person). Or bring your own brown bag meals.
