  4. Digital Non-NativesLearning Together Augsburg Education faculty members are expanding technology skills to augment our teaching and to model proficient use of technology in our day to day work. We learn together to keep us all moving ahead. Our challenges in 2012-13: iPad basics and instructional applications TK20 basics and assessment applications Moodle for hybrid instruction

Campus Transformation: Elementary Education • Summers of 2010 and 2011: Study of 21st Century Skills resulting in identification of gap areas and design of a new model • Significant re-design of elementary education curriculum • Expansion to enhance gap areas: English Learners, Differentiation, Assessment, Trans-disciplinary Learning, Technology, 21st Century Skills • Expansion of global education including addition of IB certificate at the elementary (PYP) level • Expansion of technology integration including design of a 21st century “active learning” classroom • Design of two new STEM courses • Expansion of a full-year teacher residency for elementary education • Secondary / K-12 education visioning team is currently meeting and setting similar goals

Campus Transformation: Highlights 2012-2013 Recruited new students of color -5 so far; hired academic equity lead faculty member Prepare-clinical cluster sites in MPS, SPPS and Lutheran Schools for year long practicum/student teaching with assessments in place Place- working with local schools to place graduates Support- developing support structure, Circle of Support 2011-2012 • Recruit – maintain 40 students of color • Prepare – developing curriculum and structure for year long practicum/student teaching and assessments • Place – initiated conversations with local schools to place graduates • Support- used informal support for grads
