1968 San Antonio Texas • Rodriguez v. San Antonio School District- wanted funding similar to a nearby district- lost
1971 Serrano v. Priest • Important California decision- funding solely with property tax violates Constitution • Short lived with Prop 13
Florida 1973 • Florida Education Finance Program (FEFP) • Complicated formula • BSA x wFTE x DCD x other factors- districts must match from property taxes according to a formula
Collective BargainingFlorida- a right-to-work state • Three categories: • Mandatory • Permissive • Non-negotiable
