In addition to being an exceptionally skilled mining industry professional, Ilias Atwani is a passionate photographer too. He has won several renowned photography competitions including The Art of Mining and 20 Years of Engagement to earn some great rewards. On one of these occasions, he also got to visit the Inuit villages along with the second-place winner and Noah - the local guide.

An Introduction to IliasAtwani • IliasAtwanione of the most experienced mining industry professionals in Canada and has worked in a number of different roles for several renowned companies. • He started his professional journey back in the year 2008 as an intern in the mining engineering department of a reputed company in Meknes, Morocco. • During this experience, he got to learn a lot about underground supervising in Meknes while assisting operators underground in their daily activities, handling and getting familiar with the equipment used underground.

Ilias and his Passion for Photography • In addition to being an exceptionally skilled mining industry professional, IliasAtwani is a passionate photographer too. • He has won several renowned photography competitions including The Art of Mining and 20 Years of Engagement to earn some great rewards. • On one of these occassions, he also got to visit the Inuit villages along with the second-place winner and Noah - the local guide.

Ilias’ Experience at the Inuit Villages • While he was in the Inuit villages, he spent a great time with Noah and his family which helped him learn a lot more about the culture than he already knew. • He was elated to see the mutual respect those people had for nature and was quite fascinated by the sports and games they played. • Ilias also observed that most of the Inuit believe in animism and Christianity, both.

More about IliasAtwani • IliasAtwanihad been associated with a British-Swiss multinational commodity trading and mining company for several years. • He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences and an additional degree in Mineral and Mining Engineering. • He is currently enrolled in an E-MBA course at Laval University.
