  1. CHOOSE THE RIGHT SOIL Use well-draining soil mixed with organic matter or compost to provide essential nutrients. CHOOSE THE CONTAINER Select a container that is about 8-10 inches wide and deep. ADEQUATE SUNLIGHT Select a location that receives at least 4-6 hours of sunlight daily. SOW SEEDS Sow seeds directly inthe container and space them about 1 inch apart. THINSEEDLINGS Thin seedlings to about 3-5 inches apart. Choose the strongest seedlings to keep. WATER REGULARLY Spinach requires about 1 to Y, inches of water per week. In spring,rainfall may suffice. FERTILIZE Use a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2-3 weeks for healthy growth of spinach. MULCH A 2-inch layer of organic mulch,like pine bark,straw,or shredded leaves,keeps the soil cooland moist. PEST & DISEASE MANAGEMENT Sow quality seeds and avoid overwatering to prevent diseases.
