  1. What can Cause Diabetes and How to Manage It? Diabetes refers to a group of illnesses that affect the body’s blood sugar (glucose). As you know glucose is a crucial source of energy for the cells that make muscles and tissues. It also works as brain fuel. The causes of diabetes vary by its type. But all types of diabetes can lead to excess sugar in the blood that can cause serious health issues. Chronic diabetes conditions are type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Some reversible diabetes conditions are gestational diabetes and prediabetes. A person faces prediabetes when the blood sugar levels are higher than normal. But the levels are not too high to be labeled as diabetes. Prediabetes can lead to diabetes if not treated on time. Meanwhile, gestational diabetes occurs during pregnancy but goes away after the baby is born. Type 1.5 diabetes is a different type of condition also known as latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA). It appears in adults and leads to type 2 diabetes. This is an autoimmune condition that can’t be treated by What are the symptoms of diabetes? General symptoms The general symptoms of type 1, type 2, and LADA are the same. Some general symptoms are: Increased thirst Weight loss Increased hunger Blurry vision

  2. Frequent urination Extreme fatigue Sores that don’t heal Symptoms of diabetes in men Erectile dysfunction Decreased sex drive Poor muscle strength Symptoms of diabetes in women Urinary tract infections Dry and itchy skin Vaginal dryness Yeast infections Gestational diabetes usually doesn’t have any kind of diabetic symptoms. Doctors often detect gestational diabetes during routine blood sugar tests in the 24th and 28th weeks of pregnancy. Sometimes a person with this condition may experience increased thirst or urination. What are the common causes of diabetes? Type 1 diabetes There is no exact cause behind type 1 diabetes. Due to some unknown reasons, the immune system starts to attack and destroys insulin-producing beta cells mistakenly in the pancreas. People can also get this condition in heredity. Some research shows that a virus may attack the immune system. Type 2 diabetes This condition mainly occurs due to a combination of genetics and poor lifestyle. Being overweight is one of the major causes of diabetes. Carrying extra pounds (mainly in the belly) makes the cells more resistant to the effect of insulin on blood sugar. Type 2 diabetes mainly runs in families. Family members that share genes are more likely to get this condition. Type 1.5 diabetes This is an autoimmune condition that occurs when the body’s antibodies start in the pancreas mistakenly. Gestational diabetes This condition occurs due to some hormonal changes during pregnancy. When a woman is pregnant, the placenta produces hormones to make the woman’s cells less sensitive to the effect of insulin. Due to this, the blood sugar level increases during pregnancy. Women who are overweight when they get pregnant or gain extra weight during pregnancy often get gestational diabetes.

  3. Best ways to manage diabetes The best method to prevent or manage diabetes is to keep your lifestyle healthy. If you have prediabetes or anyone in your family has diabetes then you should keep the lifestyle healthy to prevent any complications. People who have extra weight, a family history of diabetes, or have high cholesterol are at risk of getting diabetes. Maintain your weight Losing extra pounds from the body can reduce the risk of diabetes. The risk of developing diabetes is reduced by almost 60% after losing extra weight with a change in diet and exercise. Set a goal of losing extra weight and start working on it. Eat healthy plant foods Plants are a good source of vitamins, carbs, and minerals. Carbs include sugar and scratches, and fiber. Fiber-rich food helps in losing weight and reducing diabetes risk. You should eat a variety of food to maintain your diet. Talk to holistic doctors New Jersey and get good help. You should start eating fruits like tomatoes, peppers, etc. Add non-starchy veggies like broccoli and cauliflower. Eat whole grains, legumes, beans, lentils, chickpeas, etc. When you eat more fiber, it lowers your blood sugar level. You should avoid eating bad carbohydrates which are high in sugar and poor in fiber. Increase your physical activities Regular exercise is necessary for the body to prevent lots of illnesses. Exercise can help to lower blood sugar, reduce weight and boost the sensitivity to insulin. Start doing 30 minutes of moderate or vigorous aerobic exercises daily such as swimming, running, biking, brisk walking, etc. You should do resistance exercises at least 2-3 times a week such as yoga, weightlifting, etc. It helps in increasing strength and maintaining an active life. You should also limit your inactivity like sitting in front of a laptop for hours. You should take a break of a few minutes every hour and walk a few steps.
