Calling off a home warranty Step 1: Getting in touch • Contact the home warranty company immediately after you decide to call off home warranty • Ask the representative to brief you about the process of contract termination • Inquire about possible prorated premium refund and cancellation fee • Obtain the mailing address of the company from the representative

Step 2: Drafting a contract termination letter • Draft a written notice to the home warranty company informing them about your wish to terminate the contract • Date the draft with the current date. Include policy number, date of purchase and other relevant details in the notice • Mention about the prorated refund amount • Sign your name clearly at the bottom

Step 3: Sending the contract termination letter • Send the letter you drafted via registered post or courier it to the company’s address • Also send the same via e-mail • Keep the receipt of the post/ courier Wait for a confirmation mail along with which your refund amount may be send. Cancellation fee may have been deducted from the refund amount.
