  5. Lessons Learned • Need for multiple stakeholders collaboration • Interventions should be acceptable to key stakeholders • Careful selection of NGO partners for social mobilization and facilitation of VC process • Monitoring and evaluation is vital

Opportunities Ahead • A model for sustainable development of MAPs/NTFPs in Uttarakhand. • To strengthen community participation in NTFP management • Local rotation system for MAPs collection (Proposal) • Simplified processes for inventorying NTFPs and developing sustainable harvesting plans • Inter-agency collaboration for coordination
