UF – The Institution • Florida's largest university - and the nation's fourth-largest - traces its beginnings to a small seminary in 1853. • UF is home to 16 colleges and more than 150 research centers and institutes. • Since 1985, UF has been a member of the Association of American Universities
UF – The Students Enrollment: • 50,000+ • Undergraduate - 32,000+ • First Professional - 3,000+ • Graduate - 12,000+ • International - 3,500+
UF – Role of Leadership Enhancing the Undergraduate Experience -All students encouraged to pursue at least two of the following during their four years of study: • Research with Distinguished Faculty – University Scholars Program • Leadership – Student Activities Center • Internships with Government Agencies, Non-profit Organizations and Businesses – Career Resource Center • Volunteer Service to the Community, State, Nation –Office of community Service • Study Abroad – International Center
UF - Centralized Model for Study Abroad • All academics managed by department/college. • All study abroad programs are self- funded - break even budget model • IC hires and pays faculty for participation in study abroad programs • IC manages risk in study abroad • Student recruitment shared by IC and Faculty
