Best Practices • Intervention Specialist Role: gather data, supervise paperwork, initiate intensive processes (level 3) • Submit Names In Advance of Meeting • Make Sharing Best Practices a Priority • Establish a “Flag” System (Next 2 Slides)
Whites Creek HS Flag System • Tier One: • Start with 2 flag students • 70/70 Rule: • Attendance: 70% or higher attendance average • Grades: 70% or lower grade average • Students moving toward 3rd flag (ex: suspensions) • Start with 10th graders and work your way up.
Whites Creek HS Flag System • Tier Two: • Look at two flag students who have attendance averages below 70% • Check the Support and Interventions page in Chancery to see if they have been submitted to cluster support. • As a team, establish an advocate for each student. The advocate will touch bases with the student and call home and update the Support and Interventions page in the student management system.
