If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. 1 Tim 4:6-7.

Physical exercise is important. Our doctors definitely encourage us to develop healthy habits…one of which is daily exercise. We only have 1 body… we should do our best to take care of it.
What exercise can’t do Benefits of exercising • It prolongs life • Quality of life is increased • Generally helps to ward off sickness & diseases • It can’t prevent death
…exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. 1 Tim 4:7b-10
The Benefits Of Godliness (being God-like) • “It profits all things” • For The Present Life – • Takes all relationships to their highest level • Empowers us for faithful service in the earthly • kingdom (church) • For The Life Which Is To Come – • Prepares us for eternity with God (heaven)
May we always be more concerned with the spiritual than we are the physical. Part of our routine of “exercising to godliness” is our worship this morning. Thank you for joining us.
We want God to be honored and praised by what we do. Our other desire is that we also prepare ourselves to serve Him on earth while we work toward living with Him in heaven.
